Tsuchiura National Fireworks Competition (Japan/Ibaraki)

Today I will introduce you about Fireworks comptition in Tsuchiura.
It is one of three largest fireworks comptitions in Japan (Sumida, Ohmagari, Tsuchiura), and is a famous.
I'm sorry, I couldn't take a beautiful picture of fireworks. So if you look at the photos on the offitial website, you can see how wonderful this comptition is.

In Japan, fireworks are usually held in summer.
But this fireworks comptition is held every October. Moreover, this year's comptition is scheduled for October 26th today!
So the night is cold, but the air is clear and the fireworks look very beautiful.
This comptition will be held in three categories: Big one fireworks (called "No,10 fireworks ball"), Starmine, and Creative fireworks.
My recommendation is Big one fireworks! It is total length 300m, so you can enjoy powerful fireworks with sounds.

- This usually held on the first Saturday of October, but this year it is held on the fourth Saturday of October. Please chack the official website for the date and time after following year.

1. Take the Joban Line(常磐線) from Ueno Station (Tokyo) to Tsuchiura Station (Ibaraki) by train.
2. Take the shuttle bus from Tsuchiura Station to the fireworks competiton venue.
You can go to the fireworks competiton venue on foot. It takes about 30minutes.

1. Take the Tsukuba Expless Line (つくばエクスプレス線) from Akihabara Station (Tokyo) to Tsukuba Station (Ibaraki) by train.
2. Take the bus bound Tsuchiura Station West Exit (土浦駅西口行) and get off the Kasuge (粕毛) or Yosuikijo (揚水機場). However, please note that it will only run until 15:00 on the day of the competition.
